MP3 to WAV converter

I built this so you can turn MP3 files into WAV without installing anything. Choose one file or many and download the WAV files.

or drop them here

How it works, and what stays on your device

Your browser decodes the MP3 file, and a small encoder inside this page writes the WAV. You then download the result.

Nothing is uploaded. The page never sends your audio anywhere, there is no account, and closing the tab clears the files from memory.

The WAV is 16-bit PCM at 44.1 kHz and keeps every channel. It is much larger than the MP3 it came from.

You can add several files at once. Each file shows its own progress, a file that fails does not stop the others, and you can download the finished ones one by one or as a single zip. Each file can be up to 200 MB.

Frequently asked questions

Will the WAV sound better than the MP3?

No. The WAV holds exactly what the MP3 decodes to, just uncompressed. It helps when an editor or device wants WAV, and the file will be several times bigger.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Decoding and encoding happen in your browser, so the audio never leaves your device.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as your device can handle, convert them together and download one zip. If one file fails, the rest still finish.

Does the output keep the title, artist and cover art?

No. I convert the sound only, so the new file has no tags. Add them in your player or a tag editor afterwards.
