OGG to MP3 converter
I built this so you can turn OGG files into MP3 without installing anything. Choose one file or many, pick a quality and download the MP3 files.
or drop them here
How it works, and what stays on your device
Your browser decodes the OGG file, and a small encoder inside this page writes the MP3. You then download the result.
Nothing is uploaded. The page never sends your audio anywhere, there is no account, and closing the tab clears the files from memory.
MP3 is written at 192 kbps by default and you can change that before converting. The output is 44.1 kHz, and files with more than two channels are mixed down to stereo.
You can add several files at once. Each file shows its own progress, a file that fails does not stop the others, and you can download the finished ones one by one or as a single zip. Each file can be up to 200 MB.
MP3 encoding uses LAME through lamejs, both under the LGPL. Read the licence
Frequently asked questions
What is an OGG file?
Usually Ogg Vorbis, an open lossy audio format used by some games and recorders. Some phones, car stereos and editors do not play it, while almost everything plays MP3.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Decoding and encoding happen in your browser, so the audio never leaves your device.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as your device can handle, convert them together and download one zip. If one file fails, the rest still finish.
Does the output keep the title, artist and cover art?
No. I convert the sound only, so the new file has no tags. Add them in your player or a tag editor afterwards.
